The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College announces an immediate opening for a full-time Admissions Representative in the Office of Admissions. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this full-time hourly position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement, life and disability insurance, paid leave, educational benefits, and all other benefits associated with full-time employment. Position Summary: The Admissions Representative is a creative, energetic, and detail-oriented professional who helps foster and grow relationships with students, counselors, school officials, and the community within an assigned territory. The position is responsible for inquiry generation, fielding questions via text, email, or phone, supporting students through the admissions process, and assisting with on-campus events. Many events during the fall months will require evening work, overnight stays, and weekend availability.

- Coordination of specific geographic recruitment areas in Ohio and possibly out-of-state.
- Responsible for implementing event/activity plans for assigned territory that build awareness of our academic and athletic programs and our campus community and drive inquiry generation.
- This position will work with a diverse range of potential students and families, each with unique circumstances. Build relationships with school counselors and other staff to develop and nurture. The ability to demonstrate empathy is key to success in this role.
- Working independently, the Admissions Representative will use out-of-the-box critical thinking skills to support the prospective University of Rio Grande students and families through the admissions process, guiding them on the right path toward a successful college experience. Providing information to students and parents about the requirements and procedures for admission.
- Through various ways, provide exceptional guidance to prospective students and their families. Whether in-person, over the phone, via email, text, or virtually via Teams or Zoom, the position will champion the Rio mission, promoting student success and institutional growth.
- Evaluate high schools in the assigned recruitment area to determine which ones warrant a visit.
- Evaluate college day/night programs to determine which programs provide the best recruitment opportunities for the University.
- Along with the Admissions team, the position will coordinate on-campus recruitment events, including but not limited to Open House events, Rio Grande College Fair, Future RedStorm Days, and Orientations.
- Conduct on-campus admissions visits with prospective students and parents.
- Participate in professional development opportunities such as conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Maintain knowledge of current financial aid policies and procedures for Federal, State, and Institutional aid, including an understanding of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions/Recruitment.
- Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Relevant industry-related professional experience is beneficial
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or as needed
- Willingness to travel extensively during the fall and spring months, with required evening work and overnight stays during the fall.
- Outstanding time management and organization skills. The ability to organize and prioritize competing priorities even while traveling.
- Clear communication and engaging presentation skills. Comfortable communicating in person, in writing, and on the phone. Must be able to confidently engage any room while presenting, no matter what audience.
- Self-motivation and drive to succeed. Willing to take on new challenges and go above and beyond what’s expected.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule. This role requires extensive travel in your territory; you’ll need a clean driving record and the ability to use your personal vehicle.
