Job Summary
This position coordinates undergraduate student services for the Dean including foundation scholarships, undergraduate progress to degree paperwork and processes, course scheduling, advisement support, and compliance with university and college policies and procedures associated with undergraduate student progression processes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitates efficient classroom scheduling practices and monitors adherence to college and university scheduling policies and deadlines. Provides scheduling reports to the Dean and Associate Dean's as needed.
- Works collaboratively with the USM Foundation to effectively administer EHS undergraduate student scholarships.
- Manages academic standards process in collaboration with Student Support Specialist and ensures all academic standards processes align with university policies, procedures, and deadlines and maintains undergraduate student files and data files for EHS student support initiatives.
- Monitors EHS course enrollment numbers and prepares course enrollment reports for the Dean and Associate Dean's as needed.
- Supervises student workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Communication, Education, or related field. One to two years' experience in higher education working with undergraduate students. Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills; excellent critical reading, thinking, and problem-solving skills; the ability to collect, analyze, and present data; the ability to research, develop, and implement new initiatives; ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
Preferred Qualifications
SOAR/Peoplesoft experience.
