About this role

Establishes and maintains partnerships with international institutions, organizations, and agencies to facilitate student and faculty exchanges.
What a day of a Program Director, Education Abroad looks like:
- Designs and oversees global learning and education abroad programs, including faculty-led trips, exchange programs, and study abroad opportunities.
- Provides guidance to students interested in education abroad programs. Serves as a resource during international experiences, offering support and assistance as needed.
- Conducts pre-departure orientations and workshops to prepare students for the cultural, academic, and logistical aspects of studying abroad.
- Monitors travel advisories and international developments to assess potential risks.
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards in international education.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to integrate global perspectives into curricula and co-curricular activities.
- Promotes education abroad opportunities to students, faculty, and staff through presentations, workshops, and other promotional and marketing materials.
- Collects and analyzes data to assess student learning outcomes, program impact, and participant satisfaction.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to identify and execute improvements.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Four years of related experience
Knowledge of:
- Logistics and risk management for education abroad programs
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
Skilled in:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including policy and creative writing, group presentation, and individual coaching and counseling skills
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
Ability to:
- Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
- Self-manage tasks and mini-projects or improvement efforts
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Regular physical attendance required
Preferred, but not a must:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree
- One year of experience in international education
- Experience developing and overseeing study abroad programs
Knowledge of:
- Laws, regulations, and accreditation standards in international education
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
- Reach and grasp objects

- Stand for extended periods of time
- Use of video display terminal
- Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Communicate information orally and in writing
