OVERVIEW

DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 135 full-time faculty members and offers more than 40 bachelor's degrees, twelve graduate programs, and over 20 certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines; many of these can be completed fully online.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Admissions for Adult Studies supports the recruitment and onboarding of non-traditional students in the bachelor degree and certificate completion programs.This position is an integral part of the admissions team working closely with prospective students to assist with the admissions process in a highly customer service focused environment.Excellent communication skills with 2 years experience in recruiting, counseling, or marketing in higher education preferred. Experience working with transcript evaluations is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment, balance competing responsibilities, and complete assignments in a timely manner. Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, and experience with CRM platforms is desired. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to speak in a one-on-one setting along with larger audiences This position will support the college's recruitment events including open house, information sessions, university visits, and other related events. It will maximize the utilization of the Slate recruitment platform; implement the recruitment programs assigned and fulfill the admission goals.

Hybrid position. Ability to work occasional evenings required.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree required.
  • Strong organization skills and computer systems proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to communicate verbally in face-to-face interactions with individuals and large groups.
  • 2 years experience in recruiting, counseling, or marketing preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Work some evening and weekend hours throughout the year, some travel required.
  • Valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
  • Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversity.
