Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Recruits students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the University, its programs, and scholarship opportunities. Coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters. Identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students. Plans student receptions and counselor briefings. Analyzes data on current and future territories and markets.

Additional Department Summary: Responsible for the development and implementation of recruitment initiatives for international students and credit evaluation.

Additionally, this position is tasked with reviewing and evaluating international credentials for Undergraduate Admissions by staying up to date on evaluation standards and best practices regarding international admissions standards, conducting research to determine accreditation of international institutions, assessing the completeness and validity of international credentials.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and some recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Some evening and weekend work is required. This position requires the incumbent to have personal transportation and to travel alone. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier. The capability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials.

Skills and Knowledge: An interest in working with prospective college students and their families. Ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Poise

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual language skills preferred.

Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling is preferred.
