We are accepting applications for an Admissions Counselor I
Job Duties:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Focused recruitment of high school students, as well as participating in recruitment opportunities for transfer students and non-traditional students, including adult learners aged 25 and older.
• Participating in college and/or career fairs and recruiting events at local high schools and other locations throughout the community.
• Scheduling and hosting Admissions presentations, Application Sessions and Next Steps Registration Days at high schools located in the 5 Kentucky counties ACTC services. Assisting in Ohio and West Virginia as needed.
• Advising potential applicants on the Admissions process and following up as appropriate when questions arise.
• Maintaining communication with prospective students using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and other web-based recruiting/retention services.
• Helping students apply for scholarships and working with them throughout the application process.
• Providing campus tours to groups and individuals as needed.
• Building and maintaining good relationships with high school, university, and other educational institution personnel.
• Participating in other Admissions processing work as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
The qualified applicant will have an Associate’s Degree and two years of related experience, or equivalent. Travel to all ACTC campuses and area high schools, as well as some minimal evening/night and weekend work, is required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree (Education with focus on Business Administration, Marketing, Counseling, Student Affairs, or related field) and will have experience in public speaking, conducting tours, and working in a college admissions office.
