Job Purpose

This position provides clear, thorough, and knowledgeable customer service related to Terra Dotta (TD) software for Study Abroad (SA), ensuring a streamlined experience for all stakeholders. As the primary Terra Dotta administrator for the SA team, this role manages day-to-day tasks within the software platform and serves as the main point of contact for software users.
 

Additionally, this position will support general advising duties, including managing student workers and coordinating information sessions for Academic college-based outreach events. The coordinator will engage in portfolio cross-training to minimize disruptions due to absences, enhance awareness of mental health challenges and resources, manage crises abroad, and participate in campus-wide strategic planning and diversity initiatives.

The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $41,600 annually.

  • Update forms and ensure consistency across programs.
  • Manage and troubleshoot the Alert Traveler application for all programs.
  • Query student conduct updates and route them to the Gonzaga Resolution Center.
  • Manage and automate course approval forms.
  • Implement curriculum integration (course approvals).
  • Code students in Banner and perform manual updates for student records.
  • Process honors students.
  • Update alumni information.
  • Track and approve Pell Grant recipients and Gilman applicants.

  • Provide training and support to undergraduate, graduate, and life-long learning stakeholders, and troubleshoot platform issues.
  • Offer regular office hours and respond to calls for troubleshooting Terra Dotta issues.

  • Implement feedback loops for stakeholders to improve services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA + one (1) year of related experience or five (5) years of related experience if substituting experience for education requirement.
  • Experience in study abroad advising, international education, or a related area.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective interaction with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in office software and management systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Terra Dotta).
  • Cultural Competence: Knowledge of international travel and education with an ability to advise on intercultural differences.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to financial aid, credit transfer, and program selection.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in International Education, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in one or more foreign languages.
  • Experience in program administration or higher education is preferred.
  • Experience traveling, studying or living abroad.
  • Experience with digital and social media platforms for program promotion.
  • Experience with professional development programs for academic advisors.
  • Knowledge of study abroad program design, implementation, evaluation, and risk management.
