Plans and directs the overall operation of a major department (with institutional oversight) and provides leadership for staff members. Meets ORP eligibility requirements. Under executive direction, performs highly varied administrative duties involving the use of independent judgment and professional skills. Responsible for all employees assigned to area.

Directs and manages immigrant and nonimmigrant caseload for TTUHSC by providing guidance and advice in planning and determining the appropriate immigration procedure for foreign national faculty, scholars, and staff.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) was created in May 1969 as the Texas Tech University School of Medicine, a component of the Texas Tech University System. With its administrative center in Lubbock, Texas, TTUHSC is a multi-campus institution with regional campuses at Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas, and Odessa/Midland (Permian Basin). In addition, as part of fulfilling the diverse patient needs in West Texas, TTUHSC is also a contracted health care provider for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and facilitates the health care of TDCJ patients regionally. Currently the medical needs of over 30 correctional facilities are served by TTUHSC employees.
