Job Summary:

This position assists with the recruitment of future students as well as advising students to enroll in UAG School of Medicine International Program, according to the mission goals and policies of the school.

Position Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the growth of the business and to new student enrollments by assessing potential applicants and determining if they are qualified to apply and enroll in UAG programs.
  • Market and promote UAG School of Medicine to both traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Advise prospective students on all aspects of the admissions process (phone, e-mail, and in person).
  • Traveling, contact and meet with college students and pre-med advisors throughout the US to explain the program to potential students.
  • Participates in graduate fairs, college visits and special events to explain the program to potential students.
  • Works with various departments researching other competing schools to stay on top of market.
  • Assist in maintaining a recruiting database and follow up via phone, mail or email as appropriate.
  • Acts as liaison for the UAG School of Medicine with pre-med advisors and pre-med student associations.
  • Provides academic advisement to potential students.
  • Provides follow-up reports regarding activities and future plans.
  • May plan, coordinate and organize Student information sessions and webinars.
  • Work with Promotions Director/Marketing and Vice President of International Affairs in identifying recruitment markets and students.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective communication processes with prospective students, and applicants.
  • Keep accurate records and follow organizational policy to maximize business opportunities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student information and records.
  • Demonstrate strong team relationships by working collaboratively with their team and other departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • Associates Degree/Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.
  • Knowledge of customer service, and interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
  • Ability to make public presentations.
  • Must possess critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and good judgment.
  • Ability to interact with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
  • Must possess effective time management skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to plan and prioritize daily activities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Extensive travel required including evening, overnight and weekend.
