Summary

The Project Director for Wellness Education works to implement comprehensive and coordinated responses to domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSAS) on campus and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and tracking of the Federal Department of Justice Protecting Learning Experiences for University Students (PLEXUS) grant at D’Youville University. Additionally, this position plans and distributes trauma informed wellness education efforts to students through the Wellness Lodge to de-stigmatize mental wellness while engaging and educating students.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is incredibly organized and can initiate and execute meetings with multiple constituencies with varying levels of understanding surrounding Sexual Violence. The Project Director will report directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs. This position (75%) has been grant funded through October 2026 with the option to apply for grant renewal funding in 2026.

Responsibilities:

DVSAS Prevention (75%):
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities for the OVW grant, including all communication with the Department of Justice (DOJ) OVW, budget oversight, and interim and final reporting,
  • Organize Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT) to meet, at least, quarterly,
  • Hold regular meetings with internal and external partners ensuring compliance with all program requirements,
  • Create and implement an online curriculum for safety in experiential learning to be completed by 100% of students and clinical partners,
  • Coordinate, manage logistics, and lead trainings/educational opportunities related to grant subject matter,
  • Implement Green Dot training with faculty, staff, and student leaders,
  • Serve as team lead for all grant project activities,
  • Attend Department of Justice offsite technical assistance trainings,
  • Provide survivor services and advocacy as needed,
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision,
  • Maintain professional knowledge required of the position.

Wellness Education (25%):
  • Develop and administer personal wellness focused activities (educational and/or social) within the Wellness Lodge on a regular basis,
  • Work closely with the areas of Student Engagement, Student Development, and the Student Government Association to ensure comprehensive student development,
  • Participate in large University events (orientation, open house, welcome weeks, RedFest, celebration weeks, etc.) to ensure familiarity and access to students,
  • Develop experiential curriculum specific to personal wellness.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work under the requirements of a grant-directed position,
  • Prepare required grant reports in coordination with appropriate parties,
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines,
  • Demonstrated high level of organization with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes,
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and produce a quality work product, Strong writing and technological skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • The Project Director will work collaboratively with campus constituents, local law enforcement, Crisis Services of WNY, Family Justice Center and internal university partners to implement a coordinated program to fulfill the goals of the grant

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience with victim services and/or advocacy,
  • History of training and presenting to individuals and groups,
  • Record of establishing and maintaining collaborative and effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, community agencies and/or governing boards.

Preferred
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field,
  • An understanding of implementing online education services,
  • Experience working with grant-funded initiatives.

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, stair climbing, maneuvering objects of substantial weight,
  • Must possess a student-centered personal philosophy
