Job Summary

Our Admissions team here at ACC is looking for a new team member to primarily focus on representing the College on and off campus to prospective students, parents, and strategic partners including high schools, workforce centers and community groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting prospective applicants through the admissions process, presenting on the benefits and options available, as well as the resources for obtaining a certificate or degree.

Responsible for the daily student recruitment services for a designated territory within ACC’s service area, and the lead staff member of recruitment initiatives and programs targeting underrepresented students.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor will build strong, quality relationships and enhance communication to increase enrollment consistent with ACC's mission of access to all students, serving with equity those traditionally underserved by higher education.

Candidates must be able to collaborate with stakeholders across campus on equity and inclusion initiatives around recruitment and retention, and assist with programming for students of color, first-generation and lower socio-economic status.

This role requires extensive off-campus recruitment, presentations to small and large groups, enrollment project management and oversight, email, and phone outreach, interacting with prospective students and their support people as well as working with guidance counselors and ACC staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in higher education settings.
  • Ability to participate in off-campus location events in the general metro areas of SW Denver during early mornings, late evenings and on weekends. Ability to travel to off-campus recruiting events, including K-12 and community settings.
  • Experience in customer-service and/or Ability to interact and develop relationships with individuals of varying social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of Ellucian Recruit CRM, Banner and Navigate.
  • Experience in a community college setting.
  • Experience in college recruiting, high volume customer service or sales.
