Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Student Advisor to join our educational institution. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in guiding students through their academic journey, providing support, and facilitating their success. This position requires strong communication skills, a background in education administration, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse student populations.

Duties
  • Provide academic advising to students, helping them understand degree requirements and course selections.
  • Conduct individual sessions to address student concerns and promote academic success. Specifically, work with students who are at risk of dropping out due to various reasons.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts by participating in outreach programs and events to attract prospective students.
  • Utilize Nexxus or CampusVue software for managing student records and tracking academic progress.
  • Conduct interviews with students to assess their needs and provide tailored guidance.
  • Deliver public speaking presentations during orientation sessions and workshops to educate students on available resources.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions and progress in compliance with institutional policies.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in academic advising or education administration is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to education management (experience with Nexxus or CampusVue is a plus).
  • Ability to conduct individual group counseling sessions and facilitate discussions on academic topics.
  • Public speaking experience is beneficial for delivering presentations and workshops.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse student populations.
