The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) seeks an experienced, visionary, and strategic leader to serve as the next Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement, starting in 2025.  The Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Global Engagement has broad and comprehensive leadership responsibility for international student recruitment and enrollment, global partnerships and engagement, and academic programming that intentionally and purposefully broadens the perspectives of all UNO students. The AVC for Global Engagement is the Senior International Officer for the campus, and as such, works closely and collaboratively with senior campus leadership to advance initiatives focused on international students, internationalizing the curriculum, and growing global partnerships.

Reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the AVC for Global Engagement is the Senior International Officer for the campus and is broadly tasked with leading visioning, strategic planning, and implementation efforts for campus international activities and initiatives that engage a broad and varied constituent of campus and global stakeholders. The position is responsible for a) the growth and maintenance of robust international enrollments, b) leadership and oversight of international programs (i.e., prospective student programming and support, current international student support, study abroad programming, campus internationalization efforts), c) consistent communication with campus leadership and oversight of compliance/risk management strategies, and d) intentional cultivation and stewardship of global partnerships and relationships.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and significant experience with successfully recruiting, enrolling, and retaining international students. They will also have exceptional communication skills and considerable cross-cultural and international travel experience.  Additional qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to student success and engagement, experience building partnerships, managerial and business acumen, and the ability to foster a shared vision and lead strategic planning. Individuals with professional administrative and operational experience as well as individuals with academic leadership experience are invited to apply. Candidates with experience as faculty may be considered for tenured appointments in an appropriate academic unit.
