Job Summary
The Student Affairs Manager's primary responsibilities are to provide leadership in the area of operations, program development, supervision, and administration for the Union Art Gallery and Union Cinema, including directly supervising the student managers and indirectly supervising all student staff in those areas. This position is responsible for all operations and administrative support within the two operational units and the co-development of programming and services within the units. In addition, this position will lead and/or provide substantial support for student engagement/involvement initiatives and activities across campus including Fall Welcome, Winter Welcome, environmental programs, author visits, the Distinguished Lecture Series, athletic events, celebrations, award ceremonies, cultural events, student organization fairs, university recruitment events, and other unit activities. Additional responsibilities include co-leading graduate staff training and membership on the Union staff training committee.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- Masters degree required (non profit management, art history, MFA , higher education, counseling, student affairs, or related field)(Masters degree must be completed prior to June 1, 2025 )
- 2 years professional arts administration or event planning experience
Preferred Qualifications
Well-qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Experience in arts education programming, gallery exhibition development experience, performance art programming, and/or cinematic programming
- Demonstrated capacity to supervise staff
- Demonstrated experience managing a budget, completing organizational bookkeeping, and negotiating and processing contracts
- Demonstrated experience in partnership and/or funding development
- High school, college, young adult, or youth education work experience
Target Salary Range $53,000 - $59,000
