Student Advisor Manager (Union Apprenticeship)
DEPARTMENT: Carpenters Training Center
REPORTS TO: Director of Training
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
DIRECT REPORTS: Two Direct Reports
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Student Advisor Manager is accountable for the life cycle of students, which includes, but is not limited to, providing a support system, education, and mentorship. This position also requires the production and review of reports (work hours, classes, status level, leaves, etc.) and ability to work collaboratively with the other affiliated entities (e.g., District Council, Benefit Funds, etc.).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for life cycle of students. (years 1-4/5).
• Analyze student performance (work hours, class hours, etc.) and identify source(s) of problems.
• Review and track student related documents, which include, but are not limited to blue books, upgrades, violation letters, and medical extension requests.
• Build and foster working relationships with students to identify unique needs and offer solutions.
• Ensure all students are work ready with certifications and qualifications.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years' experience working as student/apprentice counselor/coordinator.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Proficiency in analyzing data/reports.
• Detailed oriented, resourceful, and ability to bring tasks to completion.
• Ability to work with diverse population.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range: $100,000 to $125,000.
The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills, education, and experience. The NYCDCC Benefit Funds offer a generous and competitive benefit package.

- Facilitate communication between students, instructors, leadership, affiliated entities, etc. when necessary.
- Work in collaboration with Scheduling Coordinator to ensure students are registered for required classes; ensure overall program compliance.
- Develop and maintain reporting metrics as well as review and maintenance of census data.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years' experience working as student/apprentice counselor/coordinator.
