The Academic Advisor, Student Services will advise students in online graduate degree programs at NYU Tandon regarding the academic curriculum, policies, procedures, transfer credits, and academic improvement for those at-risk or on probation, with recommendations made as needed. It also includes creating and implementing orientation, co-curricular, and retention programs for online degree students. Additionally, as part of the Online Student Services team, the academic advisor will assist with delivering other student services functions.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Education, Counseling or related field
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or related field.
Required Experience:
2+ years Relevant experience in student advising, supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience:
2+ years Advising graduate students at the college or university level. Experience in developing and executing co-curricular programs
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to advise and provide solutions to problems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with the computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, and/or technology fields is a plus.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
