Overview
All who are selected to participate in CFR’s Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program receive training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs as well as skills training in writing, research, program planning and much more.

The Council has an internship available in the Studies Program. The intern will play an important role in research, writing, and editing for a book project. They will have the opportunity to work closely on various Asia- related projects.

CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.

CFR’s fall internship program gives interns the opportunity to choose whether to work in our office in a hybrid capacity (half in the office, and half remote), or on an offsite fully remote basis.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Provide research on life and ideas of Hans Morgenthau and his contributions to the field of international relations
Track developments in China's Belt and Road Initiative as well as broader developments in Chinese foreign policy and cross-Strait relations
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate student focusing on international relations, East Asian Studies, or theory of international relations
Students should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
Demonstrated interest in international relations theory and the development of realism is required
Previous experience in research, proofreading, and editing
German or Mandarin profiency preferred
