The School of Pharmacy is seeking to hire a qualified Coordinator of Student Services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about higher education and committed to fostering the success of prospective and professional pharmacy students.
Responsibilities:
- Inform prospective students about educational opportunities available through the SIUE School of Pharmacy.
- Interact with prospective students, families, counselors, faculty, and administrators to promote educational opportunities.
- Develop and coordinate recruitment activities targeting high school and college students interested in pharmacy careers.
- Disseminate information about the application process through various communication channels including phone, electronic media, and in-person meetings.
- Maintain and update the Professional and Student Affairs website with pertinent information.
- Focus outreach efforts on increasing enrollment in the School of Pharmacy Conditional Entry Program and School of Pharmacy (SOP) by attracting academically strong candidates.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of the electronic pharmacy student newsletter.
- Manage social media platforms to develop content related to admissions and student success.
- Assist in compiling admissions data for committees and external accrediting bodies.
- Share advising responsibilities for CEP and enrolled pharmacy students.
- Support the evaluation of student records for pharmacy application and admissions processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of student success initiatives for professional pharmacy students, including involvement with student organizations.
- School of Pharmacy events:
- Coordinates/organizes School of Pharmacy events such as Open House, SIUE Preview, White Coat Ceremony, pinning Ceremony, Career Fair, and Residency Showcase
- Assists in the organization and delivery of School of Pharmacy events such as Awards and Scholarship, Graduation/Hooding Ceremony and Summer Camps, or Pharmacy Career Programming
- Assist in coordinating pharmacy student interviews and new student orientation programs.
- Serve on School of Pharmacy and University committees as assigned for the benefit of the School.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in higher education, counseling, business/marketing or closely related field.
- Three years' experience in higher education including student advisement or recruiting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred to have a skill set with college admission recruitment; college recruitment in the health professions.
- Preferred to have extensive experience in event planning and engagement; ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently; coordination of student events/organizations.
- Preferred experience with centralized application service, familiarity with university offices/departments that support efforts including admission,marketing, housing, financial aid, or student services.
- Preferred to have good oral and written communication skills; and ability to exploit current and emergent technologies and media to recruit students and perform duties of the position.
