Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Office of International Services & Study Abroad ( ISSA ), the incumbent will be responsible for the legal, financial, academic, and interpersonal counseling for the University’s international student population. Additional responsibilities include SEVIS compliance and support for the development of the ISSA’s orientation and cocurricular program initiatives. Additionally this position supports La Verne’s Study Abroad program. This includes advising students and faculty on study abroad opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors. Designated School Official Training. Title IX Certification. FERPA Certification. Designated Campus Security Authority ( CSA ). Knowledge of advisement principles and practices, experience with university admissions and registrar, and knowledge of Federal Regulations based on 8 CFR 214F. Knowledge of SEVIS . Experience with Engagement Programming and planning event logistics. Knowledge of student affairs theory and practices. Experience working in student affairs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience planning and implementing new student orientations and co-curricular events. Knowledge and understanding of student engagement practices.
