Job Description
The Director will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing the international strategic plan. Responsibilities will include supervising and training 6 staff members, overseeing international application review, engaging in international partnerships in tandem with other departments across the institution, and providing expertise for the Deans and campus community on all issues related to international enrollment management. Activities will include outreach to all audiences (prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, etc.); both domestic and international travel to include attendance at college nights and fairs; panels, visiting high schools; conducting interviews; virtual events, programming to support the colleges and diversity initiatives. The Director will also serve as a team leader and member of the Admissions Committee, evaluating international credentials and rendering decisions.

Responsibilities
In consultation with the Deans, develop and implement a market and institutional data-based undergraduate international strategic plan and international enrollment goals for Syracuse University. Implement the strategic recruitment and admissions plan for the purpose of increasing the diversity and overall enrollment of undergraduate international students at Syracuse University. Enhance the University’s presence and visibility among the various international populations and constituents. Serve as the University’s principal liaison for all matters pertaining to international student enrollment and financial aid. Facilitate the planning, coordination, and implementation of recruitment and admissions activities conducted abroad by the University’s schools and colleges and regional staff. Supervise the coordination of international recruitment and admissions activities in conjunction with campus and field programs/activities and University schools and colleges. Represent the University at international recruitment events: college fairs, college panels, etc., both in-person and virtually. Conduct admissions and financial aid programs, workshops, and seminars designed to inform parents, students, and other appropriate constituent groups. Principal liaison with all international recruitment partnerships and collaborative initiatives across the institution. Conduct student interviews. Discriminately read applications for admission and demonstrate a strong understanding of the review strategy and aspirant profile for each school/college and applies appropriate judgment when rendering admissions decisions. Meets all numeric targets for review within specified timeframe. Act as the team leader for the International Admissions team, and coordinate application review of international applicants, as well as domestic applicants outside of the United States Lend expertise to the Admissions Committee in reviewing international credentials from across the globe. Lead the International Scholarship committee. Collaborate with other units across campus to develop communications and marketing strategies, as well as international partnerships to build additional enrollment pipelines and enhance the institution’s brand-awareness internationally. Develop on-going staff training and professional development plans for the International Admissions Staff.

Qualifications
8+ years of experience in college admissions or a related field Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred U.S. Driver’s license U.S. Passport Strong relationship management skills Keen attention to detail and organizational skills Exceptional written and oral communications skills Microsoft Windows Microsoft Excel Microsoft Teams PeopleSoft OnBase Customer Relationship Management/ Slate
