Position Summary
The High School Liaison for Dual Enrollment and Admissions Assistant provides and coordinates administrative, clerical and student support primarily in the area of Admissions & Advising and is responsible for Dual Enrollment and Direct College admissions initiatives with local high schools to provide effective communications for high school students to matriculate to MCCC. The High School Liaison and Admissions Assistant utilizes college data and best practices in admissions to develop, manage, and evaluate events and customer service operations designed to enhance guest relations to affect prospective students' enrollment behaviors.
Essential Job Functions
1.Develops a cooperative relationship with the local high schools to build and strengthen relationships with local high schools. Manages Dual Enrollment and High School transfer initiatives and partners with local high schools to forge efficient pathways for high school students to obtain college degrees/certifications.
2.Collaborates with the CTE Coordinator to increase the number of CTE Dual Enrollment students at MCCC.
3.Facilitates the enrollment process, assists dual enrollment students in the development of academic schedules appropriate for their stated educational goals, guides students in decision-making, assists students seeking academic information, assists new and dual enrolled students in planning academic majors, and directs students to resources within the College that assist in making career and academic major choices.
4.Plans and organizes customer service functions to ensure front desk operations and admissions events are properly planned and assigned for all Enrollment Management staff.
5.Ensures the successful operation of the Admissions & Advising division by scheduling and maintaining the appointments for advising.
6.Provides positive guidance and mentoring for students by coordinating activities related to college course-taking by Early College students, including but not limited to information sessions and registration.
7.Creates and maintains student files, which may include up-to-date contact information, registration materials, transcripts, state test results, and signed copies of any student contracts.
8.Demonstrates knowledge of and skill in completing computer operations necessary for registration and other college-recognized forms of communication.
9.Responsible for Dual Enrollment processing, communicating with high schools regarding Dual Enrollment, and working with the Business Office and campus store regarding Dual Enrollment billing.
10.Serves as the primary contact for Dual Enrollment recruitment/information events. Represents MCCC at high school functions. Creates, implements and coordinates Dual and Direct College Orientations. Attends College Fairs and High School Visits, when necessary.
11.Clearly and frequently communicates with the High School/Early College Principals, High School Counselors, and supervisors to update them, provide professional development on advising, academic pathways, and financial aid, and request/provide support/input as needed.
12.Communicates with EMC counselors to get a list of students each year who will be continuing at MCCC to complete their Associate Degree. Provides a seamless transition for these students to enroll at MCCC after their fifth year to complete their Associate’s Degree.
13.Assists students with navigating technology used by the college and performs individual reviews of applications, financial aid, and registration documents when necessary.
14.Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and the development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
15.Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required by the Director of Admissions & Advising.
16.Assists in meeting enrollment, recruitment, and student service objectives of the College.
17.Contributes to the overall success of the Admissions department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience with college recruiting, advising, admissions, or sales required.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience with college recruiting, advising, admissions, or sales required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior basic functional knowledge of the Registrar and Financial Aid offices preferred
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License
