Normal Work Schedule: Flexible; Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, 10 to 20 hours per week

Job Summary: The Student Coordinator creates, assesses, and implements programs and campus-wide initiatives for the the Division of Opportunities, Connections and Success (OCS). Assists in student staff training and development. Aids in daily office management and facilitates campus-wide presentations on the roles and responsibilities of OCS. Reports to the Assistant Vice President of Programming and Engagement.

Additional Department Summary: The Division of Opportunities, Connections, and Success (OCS) promotes access and engagement for everyone in the University of Alabama community. Offers three primary initiatives to help prepare students and employees for success on campus and beyond.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student. Ability to maintain a minimum of 2.50 cumulative GPA. Ability to work events in the early mornings, late nights, and weekends. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to work 20 hours per week during the academic year and 40 hours per week during the Summer 2025.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must provide a copy of class schedule(s) and an unofficial transcript if selected for interview. Must be willing to sign a statement of conduct and a statement of confidentiality. Must participate in a training program.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a proactive approach to work and conflict resolution. Ability to effectively communicate both University and divisional expectations, standards, policies, and procedures on behalf of the Division of Opportunities, Connections, and Success. Ability to adapt quickly to change. Strong organizational skills and keyboarding skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, iOS systems, OneDrive, Google Drive, and UA Box. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to exercise discretion. Ability to work independently and as part of a team member.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to be awarded Work Study through Financial Aid and Scholarships; OR an approved worker through the Intercultural Center.

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
