Job Summary

Arapahoe Community College seeks an enthusiastic Adult Learner Admissions Counselor to support and guide adult learners, including guest, transfer, veteran, and non-traditional students, through their educational journey. This role involves building cross-departmental relationships, coordinating recruitment efforts, and managing strategic communications to enhance the student experience and increase enrollment.

Key responsibilities include recruiting and enrolling students in credit and non-credit programs, collaborating with internal departments and external partners, and providing onboarding support for pathways, degrees, financial aid, and other resources. The counselor will manage recruitment events, create communication strategies, and represent ACC at fairs and community engagements.

The counselor will also establish pipelines for adult learners with Career Services and Workforce Development, analyze enrollment data, and assist with special projects. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This is a unique opportunity to impact the success of diverse adult learner populations in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and two (2) years’ relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant experience working in a higher education or closely related environment.
  • Experience and comfortability with presenting in front of a variety of group settings.
  • Proficient with current technological tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to participate in off-campus location events during early mornings, late evenings and on weekends.
  • Ability to travel to off-campus recruiting events.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual - Spanish preferred.
  • Experience working with information systems or databases such as Banner, Navigate, Salesforce, CollegeApp, Recruit, etc.
  • Experience working in career or academic advising, high-volume customer service or sales, postsecondary recruitment, and/or in a community college setting.
