Job Overview

Dallas International School (DIS) is accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest), France's Ministry of Education, and the International Baccalaureate Organization.

With approximately 700 students of over 30 nationalities, DIS is an international school on a human scale and the only one with a French and multilingual curriculum in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a city of seven million inhabitants which is in full demographic and economic expansion. DIS is proud to be one of the few schools globally to offer both the IB's Bilingual and Advanced Bilingual Diploma programs in a variety of languages. In addition to English and French, other languages currently taught in the school are Spanish, German and Mandarin Chinese.

The Student Affairs Assistant plays a vital support role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Student Affairs department. Working closely with their respective Dean, they provide administrative, disciplinary, and supervisory support to enhance the overall student experience and maintain a safe, structured, and engaging environment.

Job duties (include but are not limited to):
  • Support Daily Operations: Assist their assigned Dean in managing the day-to-day operations of the middle or high school, including student check-ins and disciplinary follow-ups.
  • Point of Contact: Serve as the first point of contact for student concerns, referrals, or administrative support, ensuring timely and appropriate resolutions.
  • Event Assistance: Support event planning and logistics, including tracking attendance, assisting with set-up and execution, and maintaining organized records for their assigned school section.
  • Record Maintenance: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance and behavioral documentation.
  • Supervision: Provide supervision during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and in hallways to ensure a safe and structured environment.
  • Chaperone Duties: Serve as a chaperone for student events, field trips, and other extracurricular activities, ensuring student safety and adherence to school policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrative staff to support student needs and reinforce school policies.


Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a school setting or related environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Strong verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with children are essential.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a school setting or related environment
  • Bilingual in English/ French
