JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State School of International Affairs (https://www.sia.psu.edu/) (SIA) in University Park invites applications for a Professor of Practice position to begin in the fall 2025 semester. The person hired will teach courses in our Master of International Affairs program with the expectation that most of the teaching will take place in person. In addition, the Professor of Practice will spend time engaging with students outside of the classroom and advising students.
The successful candidate will have the professional and educational background necessary to teach courses in international affairs. We are especially interested in candidates with the ability to teach courses focused on national and international security and diplomacy.
Applicants should have a decade or more of high-level leadership experience in the private or public sectors outside academia that would provide a background and wealth of knowledge that brings added value when shared with the SIA's students and faculty.
Applications must include a CV or expanded resumé, cover letter addressing how the candidate's work is relevant to the focus of the position, sample publications relevant to the position (if available), and teaching interests.
This position is a benefits-eligible, non-tenure-line academic appointment for one year, with a possibility of renewal upon successful review of and mutual agreement with the incumbent.Review of applications will begin mid-February 2025 and will continue until the position is filled.
