JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Admissions Operations Coordinator facilitates continued enrollment growth and application processing effectiveness, This is responsible for admissions operations of the assigned College(s), which includes creating the student records in the Student Information System (Banner), reviewing admission applications and workflows through technical integration with various software and technologies, analyzing applicants and data, providing streamlined communication with prospective students, articulating transfer credit, and advising best practices in the field of the assigned College(s).

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completes regular admissions application configuration, mapping, and maintenance.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for admissions application entry and admissions processing systems.
  • Advises college admissions committees, faculty, and staff on holistic admissions processes.
  • Ensures data integrity in the admissions processing systems
  • Collaborates with the college program administrators to obtain pertinent information regarding applicant file review, admission committee processes, and admissions decisions.
  • Evaluates and inputs transfer credit
  • Reviews and manages admissions documents.
  • Collaborates with the Registrar's Office and Financial Aid on the entry and maintenance of academic programs and curricular information.
  • Participates in recruitment, orientation, and other student-centered events on behalf of the College and UTHSC (on-site and off-site)
  • Collaborates with the Colleges to create communication schedules for placement of student holds and attributes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years related admissions experience managing applicant data from pre-enrollment to enrollment, extensive reporting, and customer service experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree in lieu of experience.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Skilled with student information systems, document management, and admissions application technology.
    • Knowledge of current admissions best practices.
    • Ability to learn and apply new and updated processes.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local admissions regulations.
    • Ability to communicate concisely, effectively, and politely.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a diverse, collaborative, results-oriented environment.
    • Ability to provide high-quality customer service.

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally work weekends and evenings, occasional travel.
