Job Description Summary
The Admissions Counselor will take a lead role in the recruitment of traditional and non-traditional students for Southwestern Michigan College.

Required Qualifications
Associate degree Comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups of people

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Sales background, familiarity with higher education selection process and with dual-enrollment programs are preferred Experience with TargetX Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) system

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates visits to surrounding high schools to recruit prospective students Communicate with prospective students and families through email, text, and phone Identifies, recruits and advises new students through the admissions process Meets or exceeds target goals for recruitment at assigned schools Develops and maintains close working relationships with local high schools Attend college fairs which may require occasional evening or weekend work Serves as helpful initial contact for all prospective students that arrive at the Dowagiac campus Guides walking tours of campus to prospective students and their families Maintains accurate records of all recruiting activities in the Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) system Works admissions major events and assists the Event Coordinator as requested The duties listed in this job description are not all-inclusive, but a list of the major responsibilities.
